About The Awards
Founded in 2015 by multi-award winning entrepreneur Debbie Gilbert, the Best Business Women Awards are now considered to be one of the UK’s most prestigious awards for business women.
The awards cover a wide variety of industries through their 17 categories and recognise and reward female business talent.
Over 1000 people have attended our award events and the positive reputation for the awards has grown dramatically.
In addition, we have an email list of 1800 people who have either attended an event, opted in or applied, and these figures are growing daily. This figure more than doubled in year 2, so we expect further significant increases in 2017.
Our awards for women in business are not area specific and cover the whole of the UK. Finalists have traveled from all over the UK including Manchester, York and Bristol, but applications were predominately from the South East and London areas.

Do I have to provide financial information?
Yes, this is a business competition and we need to know all the information about your business to enable the judges to make their decision. It’s important to answer all the questions as fully as possible.
I am not a big business – are these awards for me?
Yes, most certainly. Our awards for business women focus on ordinary individuals who have accomplished amazing achievements for themselves, their business and their clients. These awards are not about big bucks, but people who have made a difference.

Is there a face to face interview?
No, as this is a UK wide competition this would not be logistically possible. However, in 2017 phone/Skype calls will be carried out to finalists in order to decide on the winner of each category.
Do I have to attend a final?
If you are a shortlisted as finalist then yes. Tickets are £75 per person and include a 3 course dinner and champagne reception. The awards make a big fuss of all women in business – all our finalists are worthy of recognition for their achievements.
Please note that we have kept the final out of central London to keep our tickets reasonably priced.
Our gala final is a celebration of female entrepreneurial achievements. The winners are announced on the night. All the finalists get a framed certificate with their name, business and category on and all winners get a glass trophy.
What happens after the awards ceremony?
We help all our finalists and winners with press releases in order to gain publicity. Plus, all winners and finalists are sent our logo to use and we promote all winners and finalists via social media. Additionally, all winners are added to our ‘Winners Club’.
We also hold a free event in November – The Winners Drinks, where all our winners past and present meet and celebrate with sponsors.
We also hold a winners networking lunch around the Spring (chargeable) where winners can meet and network.
